A wonderfully talented group of musicians who come prepared with their outgoing and engaging personalities in addition to the infectious music. Their concerts are one big party and include involving members of the audience on stage to play the frattoir and to dance in the aisles. Their shows touch everyone present. It’s hard to imagine anyone not tapping their feet.

They have been described as sophisticated and soulful with their music that is part folk, jazz, country, blues and oldtime – and all good! What the audience hears is fantastic vocals, fiddle, guitar, standup bass, banjo and Drumship Enterprise (a recycled drum kit made of miscellaneous items ranging from can food tins an an old suitcase) played by an extremely talented drummer. On Saturday, May 3rd , at 7:00 pm there will be a “Free Night of Entertainment” at the Walton Theatre starring Country Express Band, Elvis Presley Tribute, Schorarie Valley Cloggers, Comedy Act, Townsend School Chorus, and pianist Jody Jamison. This is brought to you by the Walton Chamber of Commerce.
Kylie Walley Benefit Concert
On Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 pm, David Mallett will perform a benefit concert for Kylie Walley at the Walton Theatre. After leaving work at the Countryside Care Center, Kylie suffered severe head trauma from a car accident on February 27. Linda and Rich Walley have been by their daughter’s side at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown since the accident, where she remains in a coma.
The music of David Mallett has traveled to all corners of the world. His songs have been recorded by more than 150 artists, including John Denver, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Pete Seeger, and even the Muppets. His “Garden Song” has become an American folk classic. Please come out on Sunday, April 20, to hear great music for a great cause. Proceeds from the benefit will help the Walleys with the many unexpected expenses they are incurring. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students, and can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 6:45 pm. For further information, email joantubridy@hotmail.com.
